Rev 1021 October 21, 2024*

In 2024, there were over 400 homeless rural Nevadans. Of those, one-fourth, or 123 were identified in Nye County - in addition to 180 school-age children. Many of these individuals and families are also food-insecure and often go hungry. Self-diagnosed substance abuse and mental health disorders run 25%.

This project’s mission is to bring together a broad base of community leaders and citizens in order to create a new community-based facility to provide shelter, food, meals, nutrition, wellness and other services.

This is a Concept Paper of what that might look like and how we might get there - working together.

* Rev 1021: Five (5) Advisory Committee members were removed due to no associated activity with or participation in this project.
