Synopsis:
This is a hands-on lab experience so that you become familiar with operating the FREE Linux PC. Learn about your FREE Linux PC and its hardware with a brief overview of the LInux operating system. You will get hands-on experience using the Cinnamon or Xfce Desktop Environments (DE) where you will learn how to transition from using Windows or Macintosh to Linux. Learn how to customize your system, secure it with a basic firewall, and keep it up to date. You will learn about the power of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) and how to tap into a collection of over 90,000 software programs you can download and use for free. We’ll teach you how, hands-on. And, when you get stuck, you will know where to get help and support.

Synopsis:
Do It Yourself! Do you want to install Linux on your own PC? Bring it in and we’ll show you how. Learn how to change the settings in the BIOS of your PC to accommodate Linux. We show you how to “dual-boot” so you can choose to run Windows or Linux at startup (if you want).
Minimum PC requirements: Dual Core 64-bit CPU, 4GB RAM, 40GB disk, monitor, keyboard, mouse.
